Fertilizers

Hazardous Waste. Free Drop-Off Disposal.

Fertilizers containing a pesticide or a weed/moss killer require special handling at a hazardous waste drop-off facility. These fertilizers are labeled with words like weed & feed, moss control, insect control, disease control, weed killer, or fungicide.

Pesticide/Herbicide/Chemical-Free
Check the label to see if your fertilizer is safe to dispose as garbage. Fertilizers without pesticide or weed/moss killer don't require special disposal. They contain only plant nutrients, which can go in the garbage.

Disposal
Full or Partially-full Containers:
Cover and package products carefully for transportation to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility

Empty Containers:
Safe to dispose as garbage. Remove lids on empty containers so your waste hauler can see the container is empty or dried up.
