Metal Boats & Boat Trailers

Contact a licensed auto wrecker or scrap metal recycler to ask about recycling your metal boat or boat trailer. Kitsap County waste facilities cannot accept boat trailers, and we do not recycle metal boats, because they are too large for our scrap metal container.

Fiberglass Boat Disposal Options

Linden Salvage and Yachtfish Marine provides boat disposal services locally.

Haul to Olympic View Transfer Station. Boats must be 20 feet or less. Cut larger boats into 20-foot lengths. Follow these additional instructions:

  1. Remove and recycle the motor, gas tank, fluids, and battery before disposal.

  2. Customers must unload the boat unassisted by staff. Customers cannot tie boats to the building in order to remove them from their vehicle.

  3. When using a tipping trailer or dump truck, a hard hat and high-visiblity vest must be worn while on the tipping floor.

  4. The Olympic View Transfer Station bulky waste disposal rate applies.

The Department of Natural Resources Vessel Turn-In Program helps eligible owners dispose of their vessels for free. The program goal is to prevent boats from becoming derelict or abandoned and potentially harming water quality and/or threatening public safety.
