Tanning Beds

(Last Updated: 1/16/2019)

Tanning beds contain UV fluorescent light bulbs, which cannot be placed in the garbage. Fluorescent lamps contain mercury, a potent neurotoxin. Remove and recycle the lamps at a free drop-off site.

Reuse
Give away or sell good condition items.

Disposal
Can be disposed as garbage once fluorescent bulbs are removed. Contact a drop-off facility for instructions. Most facilities require you to cut large items into smaller pieces before arrival. Whole beds can be taken to Olympic View Transfer Station and may be charged the higher bulky waste rate. Customers must unload the item themselves.
