Smoke Detectors

Recycle
Contact the manufacturer of your detector to ask about returning your smoke detector for disposal.

Disposal
If you can't reuse, dispose as garbage. Some smoke detectors contain a tiny amount of radioactive material, but are safe to put in the garbage because the amount is far less than ordinary background radiation found in nature.
