Metal space heaters contain mineral oil. Contact a private metal recycler listed below to ask if they will accept your heater with the oil still inside. Verify accepted items and hours.

Fully drained heaters can be recycled as scrap metal at Olympic View Transfer Station or the Silverdale Recycling and Garbage Facility.

Remove the plug and heating element and then drain the oil into a sturdy container. Take mineral oil to the Kitsap County Household Hazardous Waste Facility.

Ceramic heaters that look like small fans can be safely disposed in your garbage. The only known local recycling drop-off is at Bainbridge Island Transfer Station. Call ahead to verify fees, hours, and accepted items.
