It’s easier than ever to recycle paint in Washington!

Visit PaintCare.org to find a nearby take-back site for house paint and primers, stains, sealers, and clear coatings (e.g., shellac and varnish).

Since the start of the Washington paint stewardship program on April 1, 2021, PaintCare has set up 150 drop-off sites throughout the state where the public can take unwanted paint for recycling. These sites are available to households, businesses, government agencies, and others with leftover paint in Washington.

Kitsap County's Household Hazardous Waste Facility continues to accept both latex and oil-based paints and stains from households at no charge. Businesses and organizations with paint must make a disposal appointment . Empty paint cans are not accepted.
