Appliances are air conditioners (including window and portable units), compressors, dehumidifiers, dishwashers, dryers, freezers, heat pumps, ovens, refrigerators, stoves, trash compactors, washers, water coolers, and water heaters.

Recycle | Drop off at a Kitsap County waste facility. Kitsap County Waste Facilities charge a recycling fee. Customers must transport and unload the item themselves. Remove food and garbage from appliances before bringing to a facility. No commercial appliances are accepted, even if they were used in a home. Hire a haul-away service. Drop off at a private scrap metal recycler. Many metal recyclers accept non-refrigerating appliances for free but charge a small fee for recycling refrigerating appliances. The fee helps the business offset the cost of disposing of the hazardous chemicals (CFCs) inside fridges, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and water coolers.
