Metal radiator-style space heaters contain mineral oil. Contact the private metal recycler below to ask if they will accept your heater with the oil still inside. Verify accepted items and hours.
You can recycle drained metal heaters in the scrap metal containers at the Central Kitsap Recycling and Garbage Facility or at Olympic View Transfer Station. Remove the plug and heating element and then drain the oil into a sturdy container. Take mineral oil to the Kitsap County Household Hazardous Waste Facility.
Give away, sell, or donate good condition items. Contact a local charity or resale store to see if they can accept your item.
Space heaters that look like small fans can be safely disposed in your garbage. The only known local recycling drop-off is at Bainbridge Island Transfer Station. Call ahead to verify accepted items and facility hours.
