Plastic bags are not recyclable in your curbside recycling bin because they get caught in sorting machines.
However, you can recycle them in take-back bins at local grocery stores and retailers. The retailer list below is not a complete list of participating locations.
Bags must be clean, dry, and free of food residue. Many types of plastic bags are accepted in take-back bins. View a poster (PDF) showing accepted items.
Reuse as a garbage can liner, as a dog poop bag, or ask a local farmers market vendor if they could use your clean and dry plastic bags.
