String Lights

In 2018/2019, bring broken string lights to the recycling locations below.


Recycle
  • Girl Scouts of Western Washington collects string lights to benefit shark conservation with the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. Drop-off broken lights at the Peninsula Girl Scout Program Center (Bremerton) Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Dec. 3 to Dec. 21 and Jan. 7  to Jan 11.

  • Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium collects lights at the main entrance between Nov. 23 and Jan. 12. Proceeds benefit shark conservation.

  • Lowe's collects string lights in the entrance from Thanksgiving until Jan. 1.

  • Bainbridge Island Ace Hardware collects lights from Thanksgiving until around the end of January.

  • Scrap metal recyclers accept broken lights for recycling. Contact the private recyclers below to ask.
